Genting UK, the local subsidiary of the Malaysian casino group, Genting Group, has signed a new deal with the software provider, Playtech.

Under the terms of the deal, Playtech will provide Genting UK land casinos with its Neon casino management system.

Playtech said that the Neon solution would be rolled out at Genting casinos throughout this year, and will culminate with the incorporation of the system at the super-casino, Resorts World Birmingham when it opens at the  beginning of 2025.

Genting hopes to use the Neon system at all 41 of its gambling properties in the United Kingdom, ranging from exclusive private clubs to Crockfords in London.

The system allows the casino manage all client information, table gaming, loyalty programmed and cash desk operations through iOS and HTML5 applications.

The Neon casino management system was developed with Intelligent Gaming, a subsidiary of Playtech.

Playtech entered into an agreement to purchase the entire issued share capital of Intelligent Gaming Solutions in January 2025, paying an initial £2.5 million, with a further consideration capped at £3 million. At the time of the deal, Playtech CEO, Mor Weizer said: “The convergence of land-based and online segments is becoming a key theme in the industry and we continue to position Playtech as the independent software provider of choice with market leading integrated technology. We see this deal as increasing Playtech’s unique competitive advantage and cross-platform capabilities.”

The Director of Consulting for Intelligent Gaming, Chris Dempsey said about the new deal in a press release recently put out: “Neon will provide a unique solution, connecting Genting UK’s operations to a central system with a range of HTML5 and iOS applications.”

“Neon is the most flexible casino management system available and we are carrying out significant customisation to support and reinforce Genting’s processes,” he said. “We are proud and excited to partner with the world’s biggest gaming operator on a project that is so important to the modernisation of their business.”

Centralised Casino Systems

Also commenting on the deal was the director of Genting UK IT, Chris Ashworth who said: “Playtech’s Neon will enable us to centralise our systems and streamline many customer-facing business processes to improve our customer service and drive our business forward.

He added: “The system will be fully centralised in a high-availability data centre and will integrate with our other key business applications via TIBCO.”
